King Krule, Mica Levi, Justin Vernon, and loads more collaborating on book project

King Krule, Mica Levi, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Laura Marling, and Alison Mosshart of The Kills are among a whole bunch of musicians contributing original stories and films to a new book project.

‘Stories For Ways and Means’ will feature writing from 30 musicians, as well as a handful of short films to accompany the collaborative project. Proceeds from the book will go to Room to Read and Pencils of Promise - two education-focused non-profit organisations. According to the project’s website, the book features “outre art, weird images, graphic displays of nasty stuff and cuss words.”

Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Pixies’ Frank Black, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Devendra Banhart, Will Oldham, and Kathleen Hanna are also contributing to the new project, which has been 10 years in the making. The project was started by Jeff Antebi, the head of Waxploitation.

Joey Bada$$, Nick Offerman, Zach Galifianakis, Danny DeVito, and Lizzo have also contributed short films. Pre-order the 350-page book here, and watch a trailer for the Stories For Ways And Means project below.
