Stormzy’s album is called ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’, shares ‘Big For Your Boots’ video
The grime godfather takes to the chicken shop for the LP’s new single.
Hallelujah! The mystery surrounding what ‘GSAP’ stands for has been unravelled!
Last night Stormzy revealed that his debut album will be called ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’, and it’ll be out on 24th February. He’s also unveiled the artwork, which gives off some serious ‘Last Supper’ vibes. See it via Stormzy’s Twitter page here.
Talking to Julie Aduendga on Beats 1, he said: “I had a choice to make the album that I wanted to make or make the album that I feel people wanted me to make.” Hopefully ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ will turn out to be the former. Watch the full chat here.
That’s not all though, as Stormzy has also brought on board a cast of powerful women – including Adenuga and BBC Sound Of winner Ray BLK – for his new video for ‘Big For Your Boots’ (a track that totally explains the line seen recently on some London billboards). In the video, he also heads down to the chicken shop for a midnight snack, and, of course, spits fire. Does make you wonder where the cameo from The Pengest Munch is though…
