Supermilk gets fuzzy on debut EP
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Supermilk. He’s usually seen behind the drums for Doe, but Jake Popyura also operates as Supermilk, his project “for fans of sparkly things and 90s stuff that never came back into fashion.” We’ve got the first play of the project’s new EP, ‘Hello? Yes This Is Supermilk…’ as today’s Neu Pick.Trading on fuzzy riffs and fizzy pop melodies, the new release sees Popyura stretching the vocal muscles he tests from time to time in Doe, with soaring, screeching choruses the result. The EP is being released via Keroleen Records, and you can pre-order it here. Listen to the whole of ‘Hello? Yes This Is Supermilk’ below.
