We Are Scientists share “rare moment of quiet” in new single ‘Lucky Just To Be Here’
The track is lifted from their upcoming new album ‘Lobes’.
Ahead of the release of their eighth studio album ‘Lobes’ on 20th January via 100% Records, We Are Scientists have released their latest single ‘Lucky Just To Be Here’.
“When people think about We Are Scientists — and they often do — they probably think about danceable beats, anthemic sing-along choruses, and the greatest, most energetic live shows they‘ve had the good fortune to attend,” the band say. “What they’re perhaps less likely to think of are aching, bittersweet ruminations on time’s relentless chisel-work or the pang of instant nostalgia that comes as our lives our hewn, with each passing moment. I mean, they probably don’t think of those things, with us, right? Well, ‘Lucky Just To Be Here’ may just change that for a lot of listeners. The song is a rare moment of quiet for us, although, yes, it does still eventually explode with the sort of exhilarating bombast upon which we’ve built our reputation, so fans who fear the sort of existential change that this song confronts can rest assured that some things — some essential things, like We Are Scientists’ unrestrained vitality — remain constant.”Have a listen to ‘Lucky Just To Be Here’ below.See We Are Scientists live at the following dates:FEBRUARY19 UK Manchester – Gorilla20 UK Belfast – Limelight 221 IE Dublin – Whelan’s23 UK Glasgow – Oran Mor24 UK Newcastle – Northumbria Uni25 UK Leeds – Wardrobe26 UK Bristol – Thekla28 UK Birmingham – O2 Institute 2MARCH01 UK Nottingham – Rescue Rooms02 UK Southampton – Engine Rooms03 UK London – KOKO26 FR Paris – Le Petit Bain27 NL Maastricht – Muziekgieterij28 BE Antwerp – Kavka30 NL Amsterdam – Paradiso Noord31 DE Cologne – LuxorAPRIL02 DE Hamburg – Knust03 DE Berlin – Hole4404 DE Leipzig – WERK 205 DE Nuremberg – Z-Bau07 CZ Prague – Futurum08 SK Bratislava – Nová Cvernovka09 AU Vienna – Flex11 DE Munich – Hansa 3912 DE Wiesbaden – Schlachthof (Kesselhaus)14 FR Lille – L’Aéronef ClubGet tickets to watch We Are Scientists live now.Read More
