Brett

is a new band out of Washington D.C., signed to Cascine for a debut album out this May. The five-piece (Mick, Kevin, Jon, David, Mike) specialise in glittered, sense-enhancing synth pop. Lead track on the debut (‘LP’), ‘Chalon’, links up diary-like intimacy with shiny, glimmering aesthetic.

‘I know you remember what you said in Baltimore,’ runs the opening line, playing out line a quote in a movie. A more universal meaning creeps into the song as spine-tingling, giant, arching shoegaze guitars enter the foreground. By the end, ‘Chalon’ is a breathtaking mix of pure beauty and a sour, rotten edge.

‘LP’ is released on 20th May.
