Torches Cover Crushed Beaks ‘Close-Ups’

We’ve been a big fan of the noisy scamps known in their linear notes as Crushed Beaks for quite sometime, less professed however is our admiration for their gloom-pop pals Torches.

What better a way to introduce the London group then than by a cover of a Crushed Beaks’ track, ‘Close-Ups’? It may be a Monday morning but we still can’t think of anything greater.

The cover is a cut from the pair’s forthcoming split single, with Crushed Beaks also having a go at a Torches original.

Matt from Crushed Beaks and Charlie from Torches can be seen in photo above, looking pretty dapper (yep, that’s the start and end of my fashion journalism career…)

Crushed Beaks and Torches are set to play a special co-headline show at London’s Power Lunches on the 10th March to celebrate this collaborative release. I Ching will also feature as part of the night put on by the wonderful guys over at The Line Of Best Fit and Fractions Of One.

Keep your eyes well and truly peeled because Crushed Beaks will drop their half of the single very soon indeed.
