Watch: Gaslight Anthem Reveal Video For ‘45’
‘45’ is a song where I took my simple love for records and turned it into a metaphor for a time in my life where you just couldn’t get over a break up.”“

The track itself has been circulating the airwaves for a little while now, but The Gaslight Anthem have finally unveiled their new video for ‘45’.
Filmed in the legendary New Jersey venue, The Stone Pony, watch the band perform the track below.
We were also lucky enough to get an extra little insight into the song, when we sat down with the band last month. Brian Fallon had this to tell us:
”45’ is a song where I took my simple love for records and turned it into a metaphor for a time in my life, and a time in many of my friends’ lives, where you just couldn’t get over a break up. For some reason, you just couldn’t move on. Then it, maybe childishly, simplified itself to the fact of turning the record over. Just go to the next page, the next side of your life. Everyone’s waiting for you on the next side. Just flip it! Then, it turned into a song and that was kind cool for me. I don’t know if that’s clever but it’s clever to me! I think it’s cool!
And as for the reaction to the track? Well, the frontman’s comment speaks for itself.
‘We trended on Twitter above Justin Bieber… I’ve been heavily involved in the Twitter. It’s been going.. The Tumblr and the Twitter, that’s my jams. They’ve been going crazy! They’ve been going bananas. People are texting me, emailing me like, ‘Dude, this is the best thing you’ve done. I can’t believe you did it!’ Which is just awesome, you know. It’s really gratifying.
The band will be appearing in the UK next week, when they perform at London’s Koko on the 11th June. They will also return to appear at this year’s Reading & Leeds festivals.
The band’s fourth album gets released on the 23rd July through Mercury Records, with the tracklisting going something like this:
1. 45
2. Handwritten
3. Here Comes My Man
4. Mulholland Drive
5. Keepsake
6. Too Much Blood
7. Howl
8. Biloxi Parish
9. Desire
10. Mae
11. National Anthem
The record was produced in Nashville, Tennesee, with esteemed producer Brendan O’Brien, who has previously worked with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young.
