Get Excited About Jamie xx’s debut album will cement his position as Britain’s most exciting producer
Four years after solo tracks first began to surface, and with approval from the world’s biggest pop stars, Jamie xx is set to take 2015 and make it his with ‘In Colour’.
This has been a while coming, eh Jamie? With a host of remixes, collaborations, covers, revered live shows, and a quartet of his own tracks to boot, Jamie Smith has built up to this, the announcement of his debut solo LP, for quite a time. Since his beginnings with Mercury-winning The xx, the producer has slowly but definitively started making his own way as a solo artist, gaining more attention and adoration with each new track.
An album release show in London and a countless number of high profile festival slots are already shoed in, and releasing the album on the first day of June can only be seen as a statement of intent: it’s going to rule the summer. All this preparation and expectation is set to make 2015 quite a year for Jamie xx, and here’s why we’re so excited about him and about ‘In Colour’.
