Jamie xx reunites with Romy & Oliver Sim for final ‘In Waves’ cut ‘Waited All Night’
The collaboration is the final preview of the producer’s second album, which drops tomorrow.

Reunions are big news right now, but this one is a little less conventional than most: Jamie xx has reunited with his The xx bandmates on new track, ‘Waited All Night’.
The final preview of his forthcoming second solo album ‘In Waves’ - which lands tomorrow (Friday 20th September) via Young - features both Romy and Oliver Sim, marking their first time on the same track since The xx’s 2017 album ‘I See You’. It was first debuted when the trio got together on stage to perform it live at Glastonbury earlier year.
“Thank you to my two best friends and musical siblings, Oliver and Romy,” Jamie has said, of the collaboration. “It’s wonderful to have the gang back together, working in new ways, working out new lives, I wouldn’t be here without them.” “We’ve loved collaborating on our recent solo projects but it’s been a while since the three of us came together on one track,” Romy and Oliver have also commented. “We’re so pleased that this was the place we met up again. Proud to play a small part in this long awaited, brilliant album. We’re your biggest fans Jamie!”
‘Waited All Night’ follows on from the likes of Honey Dijon-collab ‘Baddy On The Floor’ and the Robyn-featuring ‘Life’ as previews of ‘In Waves’, his first solo LP since his 2015 debut ‘In Colour’. Check out ‘Waited All Night’ below, and read our verdict on the full album here.
