Adult Jazz air new video for ‘Am Gone’

Track’s taken from the Leeds band’s debut album ‘Gist Is’.

Last time Adult Jazz arrived with a new video, they ended up making a happy clappy percussive explosion of heated chests and tribal chants. This time, the Leeds band take a back seat in a dark, choking new clip for ‘Am Gone’.

The star of the video is Suren Seneviratne, who also makes music as My Panda Shall Fly. Here, he stomps through dreaded grey ground with a torture instruments round his head - it’s bitterly dark on the outside, but there’s a fair bit more going on as director Samuel Travis explains: “The video plays out some of the ideas about self-restraint and spirituality that ’Am Gone’ throws up lyrically, but in a very physical and immediate way. The central character changes from a figure to be pitied for his unfortunate circumstances to an almost menacing presence who is very much in control of their situation.”

Adult Jazz’s ‘Gist Is’ debut is out now on their own label, Spare Thought.
