Alvvays Sign To Transgressive, Announce Debut Album

Canadian five-piece Alvvays have announced the UK release details for their self-titled debut album.

Transgressive will release the record on 21st July, one day ahead of its Stateside release via Polyvinyl on 22nd July. The album contains previously unveiled tracks ‘Adult Diversion’ and ‘Archie, Marry Me’ and arrives following impressive sets at this year’s Great Escape Festival, Brighton.

In Laurence Day’s Neu profile of the beachcombers, he describes the band as having ‘a carefree, youthful essence’ - ‘Canada’s not famous for its Copacobana-esque seaside resorts, but somehow the five-piece have channelled the chilled-out, hazy laze and general lackadaisy of spending days on end down on the sound with bestest pals.’
