Angel Olsen delves into the past on ‘Who’s Sorry Now’
The cover of Connie Francis’ 1958 tune features on a companion record to ‘The Man In The High Castle.’

As a companion piece to ‘The Man In The High Castle,’ a show
that takes place in an alternate America that’s been taken over by the Nazis,
Danger Mouse and Sam Cohen have created something of a companion piece,
‘Resistance Radio,’ that brings together a number of indie luminaries.
Alongside Beck, Karen O, The Shins and Sharon Van Etten, Angel
Olsen has also been enlisted for the project. She’s covered ‘Who’s Sorry Now,’
a track that was originally made popular in 1923 by Isham Jones before becoming
a hit in 1958 by Connie Francis (bit of history for you there).
Listening to Angel’s version, you’d think she’d stepped
right out of the 50’s herself. It’s a crackly, hazy slice of vintage Americana,
and her voice lilts and swoons like one of the great singers from days gone by.
It’s a little bit gritty, beautiful and absolutely jam packed with emotional
impact.
