Angel Olsen announces solo show at London’s Union Chapel

The singer’s new compilation album ‘Phases’ is out now.

Angel Olsen released a new rarities compilation called ‘Phases’ recently, and has now announced a new London show for 2018.

The singer - whose last LP ‘MY WOMAN’ came out at the end of 2016 - will play solo at Union Chapel on 30th April.

In other Angel Olsen-related news, the singer recently collaborated with Hamilton Leithauser (of The Walkmen fame) on new duet ‘Heartstruck (Wild Hunger)’.

We spoke to Olsen around the release of ‘MY WOMAN’, where she talked about opening herself up, and how there’s more to the album than its feminism.

“The title is ‘MY WOMAN’, and there is a woman - who is me - on the cover,” told us. “I know that it’s going to come up. As a woman there are certain things that are from a woman’s perspective, though I feel like to say every piece of work that I do is feminist because I’m a woman and I have a woman’s perspective is sort of a linear way of thinking.

“That’s what I’m trying to project, by saying, ‘Yeah, I am a woman, and I do see things a certain way but I am also a human. And I’m also a writer.’ I’m also someone who makes songs, and who wants to project something in my songs that isn’t necessarily just about a woman’s struggle.”
