Streaming wars
Apple Music now has thirteen million subscribers
Service is picking up new users following its launch in June last year.

The streaming wars continue. Apple Music has announced new figures of thirteen million subscribers, with service revenues up by 20%.
These new figures - announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook, reported by Tech Crunch - are an all-time high for the service, which launched in June 2015. Back in August last year, a reported eleven million subscribers were on board, although many of these are likely to have unsubscribed following a three-month free trial.
Any sod with an iPhone has Apple Music automatically installed on their device. It’s still too early to tell how much the service can compete with giant rival Spotify and Tidal, which recently reported a gain in two million subscribers between November 2015 and March 2016. These are owed mostly to big-name exclusives, but if the service can continue to pull releases like ‘The Life of Pablo’ and ‘Lemonade’, expect it to be viewed as a legitimate competitor.
Featuring Finn Wolfhard, FLO, Jungle, Mystery Jets and more.
