Aquilo head to the desert in their ‘Who Are You’ video

Following on from their ‘Silhouettes’ trilogy earlier in the year, Aquilo have today released ‘ii (Side A)’, a five-track EP that’s also the first half of their new album, with ‘Side B’, coming in early 2018.

Speaking of the project, Ben said: “We’re doing things differently. Streaming has changed how we all consume music. We still love the album format, but it definitely needs updating. Releasing an album in two halves is our way of doing that”.

To celebrate the release, they’re now sharing a video for their new single ‘Who Are You’, another soaring cut from the duo. It’s the first clip to feature both Tom and Ben, and it was filmed in a single, continuous shot in the Joshua Tree National Park. It sees them driving out and eventually lighting a fire in the middle of the desert.

Speaking of the video, the band said: “We’ve always preferred having actors in our videos because they’re of-course more capable of getting a message across when we felt we couldn’t. This is our first time in one of our videos and we decided to give the acting a go. It’s a one-shot video in the blazing heat of the Californian desert… which to be honest wasn’t our smartest idea! but the directors Sleepy Puppies were incredible and we hope people enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!!”

The pair also recently announced a tour around the UK for April, which follows this week’s pair of sold-out dates at London’s Courtyard Theatre. They’ll be taking in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol along the way before rounding off the voyage at the capital’s Oval Space. Tickets are on sale now.
