The 43rd Glastonbury Festival opens today, with highlights coming from Metronomy, Jungle & more.

Arcade Fire to headline day one of Glastonbury 2014

Today sees the 43rd Glastonbury Festival kick off on Worthy Farm, with headliners Arcade Fire set to close a day’s proceedings that also includes big slots for Elbow and Skrillex.

The latter headlines the Other Stage, with Interpol and Haim also set to make appearances.

Over on the Pyramid Stage, Lily Allen’s backing up her ‘Sheezus’ album, playing before Elbow’s sunset slot.

Elsewhere MIA tops the West Holts stage, which also features Jurassic 5 and Tune-Yards, while Joseph Mount’s Metronomy are the big names on The Park Stage.

Poliça are set to play the John Peel Stage ahead of their DIY Presents gig this weekend in Brighton. Catch up with our interview with the Minneapolis band here - they play Brighton’s Old Market on 28th June.

Other highlights arrive in the form of Courtney Barnett and Parquet Courts (Park Stage), plus CHVRCHES and Wild Beasts on the John Peel Stage. JUNGLE - the most exciting band in the world? - make their Glasto debut on the same stage.
