Arcade Fire’s Will Butler confirms European tour
Dates include a headline night at London Scala.
Arcade Fire’s Will Butler has announced his first ever European headline tour, riding on the back of debut solo album ‘Policy’.
Newly announced shows include two four UK & Ireland dates - in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Dublin.
So far, Butler’s unveiled a big hint towards a classically inspired, jagged ‘50s rock and roll style for his debut record. On ‘Take My Side’, his vocals - a background piece for his day job - are raspy, ringing true on top of a frenzied, jangly display.
The album was recorded in one week at Electric Lady Studios. A statement about the record describes it as: “American music — in the tradition of the Violent Femmes, the Breeders, the Modern Lovers, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, the Magnetic Fields, Ghostface Killah. And John Lennon (I know, but it counts). Music where the holy fool runs afoul of the casual world.”
