Arctic Monkeys announce Royal Albert Hall show in aid of War Child
It takes place next month.
After releasing the much-talked-about ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ last week, Arctic Monkeys have announced details of a one-off show in aid of War Child.
The band - who already have a headline arena tour later in the year, as well as many a festival spot across the summer - will play London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on 7th June, with a ballot open from this morning until 8pm on Sunday 20th May for a chance to buy tickets. Entering the ballot costs £2, with all proceeds going to War Child UK.
Rob Williams, CEO of War Child UK says: “We are delighted that the Arctic Monkeys will be dedicating their time and efforts to helping children affected by war by performing a show for War Child, and it is a huge honour that they have chosen to support us. The money raised from this show will allow us to continue our life-changing programmes and reach even more children who have had their lives torn apart by conflict. With 250 million children in the world today affected by war, the need is as great as ever to stand up for their rights.” To find out more or to donate, visit www.warchild.org.uk
Arctic Monkeys play Mad Cool (12th - 14th July) where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
