Arctic Monkeys recently finished up the UK leg of their tour around this year’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’, and have now announced plans to release a new song!

The title track of the band’s sixth album is getting its own release on 7” via Domino next month, and the b-side is a new track called ‘Anyways’.

The new release is available for pre-order now, and comes out on 30th November. It also features some thoroughly lovely artwork featuring Alex Turner doing the hoovering, because obviously.

The band have also shared new short film ‘Warp Speed Chic’, directed by Ben Chappell and featuring live performances from across the TBH&C tour. It was originally shown at the band’s recent AM:ZM exhibitions in London and Sheffield.

“After spending a year documenting Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino I wanted to try and pull it all together in a short film,” Ben says of the creation of the piece. “I spent a few weeks with the band in France documenting the recording process with my 16mm camera in September 2017. At that point I was still only hearing bits and pieces of the tunes as they were being recorded. Nearly a year later I was on stage with them in Lyon France shooting some of those same tunes. When the film came back from the lab I put the live songs next to my shots of them recording and found it to be quite nice. With that as a starting point, I then used James Ford’s instrumental mixes of the album and put an assortment of the images we created for this album overtop giving a glimpse into the last year and the full progression of Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.”

In other news in AM world, drummer Matt Helders recently revealed plans for a debut solo album, while Alex joined his old mucka Miles Kane on stage in Paris to perform a Last Shadow Puppets classic.
