A$AP Rocky channels PS2 nostalgia in action-packed new ‘HELICOPTER$’ video

A$AP Rocky has continued to whet fans’ appetites for ‘DON’T BE DUMB’ - his imminent new album, and first full-length in eight years - with ‘HELICOPTER$’, a storming single that’s arrived accompanied by an even more striking video. 

Directed by Rocky himself alongside Dan Streit, the visualiser finds the innovative artist and his crew navigating a video game world of chaos and civil disorder via his iconic D.B.D. helicopter, which was used during his 2025 Lollapalooza set. Landing somewhere between a real-life stunt sequence and animated VFX, the video uses 3D rendering and lifelike 3D holograms to drop Rocky and his characters directly into the heart of the digital action - with adrenaline-pumping results. 

Due out on 16th January (this Friday), ‘DON’T BE DUMB’ will act as the long-awaited follow up to 2018’s ‘TESTING’, and has already been previewed by recent cut ‘Punk Rocky’. Find out more about A$AP Rocky’s bold next chapter and check out the video for ‘HELICOPTER$’ below.
