At The Drive-In Play First Show In Eleven Years

Newly reunited post-punk heroes At The Drive-In played their first show in over a decade last night.

After a huge eleven year break and an extraordinarily high profile reunion, At The Drive-In played their first show in over a decade last night (Monday 9th April).

The event - yes, this is a live show that counts as an event - took place at Red 7 in Austin, Texas, with NME reporting that any fans unable to obtain tickets to the few hundred-capacity venue went as far as to climb surrounding rooftops, and trees in an attempt to glimpse some of the show.

Opening up with ‘Arc Arsenal’, the band introduced themselves with frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala asking his bandmates to ‘tell them who we are,’ before guitarist Jim Ward answered gleefully: ‘We’re At The Drive-In. We’re from El Paso, Texas.’

The band’s setlist - which included the explosive hit ‘One Armed Scissor’ towards the end of their stage time, before close ‘Catacombs’ - was as follows.

Arc Arsenal
Pattern AgainstUSer
Chanbara
Lopsided
Sleepwalk Capsules
Napoleon Solo

Rascuache

At The Drive-In will make their first reunited appearance in the UK at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals.
