Baio shares new track ‘Out of Tune’
His new solo album ‘Man of the World’ is out next week.
Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio is set to release the
follow up to his debut solo album ‘The Names’, ‘Man of the World’ on 30th June
via Glassnote.
We’ve already heard two tracks from it, the funk-laden ‘PHILOSOPHY!’
and the darker, more brooding ‘DANGEROUE ANAMAL’. Now with just seven days to
go until Baio unveils ‘Man of the World’ in its entirety, he’s gone and shared
another brand new tune. ‘Out of Tune’ is built on a bit of a bit of a wonky
vintage synth and bursts of brass in the chorus. In it, Chris is once again
dealing with some of his own anxieties, admitting in the chorus that “I was out
of tune when I thought I sounded great”.
This week, Chris also announced a date in the UK. He’ll be
playing at the Waiting Room on 19th July, and tickets are on sale now.
Listen to ‘Out of Tune’ below.
