Bastille’s upcoming third album is all finished, and set to be released soon. There’s no firm release date yet, but the band have announced they’re set to roadtest songs from the record on an intimate UK & Ireland tour next year.

The band will play a handful of theatre shows in January and February, beginning in Dublin at the Olympia Theatre.

The new album has been previewed by new single ‘Quarter Past Midnight’, and we spoke to Dan Smith about all things album three around their reorchestrated show at the Royal Albert Hall in London earlier this year.

“With this record we want to make something that was way more cohesive,” he told us. “It’s shorter and there’s a slight throwback feel to some of the songs. It’s almost like the apocalypse is happening outside but, for a minute, shutting the curtains to that and enjoying what you’ve got for a second, which I think is a completely valid and sane thing to do.” Read the full interview here.

Talking about the tour, Dan says: “We’ve spent most of this last year working on loads of new music and touring different versions of our songs so now we’re excited to head back out and revisit more intimate rooms and play a bunch of new songs in the lead up to our new album.”
