BBC Worldwide reveal plans for Daft Punk documentary

The hour long production is a collaboration with French TV channel Canal Plus.

Back in summer 2013, Daft Punk were everywhere. Thanks to their earworm of a summer hit ‘Get Lucky’, they ruled the airwaves. Now, they’re setting their sights on invading our lives through a different means: there’s going to be a Daft Punk documentary.

According to Variety, BBC Worldwide Production France have teamed up with French channel Canal Plus to commission the hour-long show, detailing the rise and rise of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.

Currently scheduled to air in 2015, the show has been slated to be directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre and co-written by Marina Rozenman and is set to document the electronic duo’s twenty year career.

Variety has also said that the documentary is set to be produced by the head of BBC Worldwide Productions France, Jean-Louis Blot, alongside Patrice Gellé.

“We are proud to announce our first commission with Canal Plus Group on such an original and creative film,” said Jean-Louis of the project. “BBC Worldwide France stands as a major French producer of documentaries with stunning production values and universal appeal.”
