Beck releases new single, ‘Dreams’

After a handful of exciting previews, Beck has released his new single, ‘Dreams’.

The follow-up to his Grammy-winning ‘Morning Phase’ ditches moody, acoustic-led songwriting for his all-out pop alter-ego. A quick-thinking, attention-hogging blast of sharp guitars and gigantic hooks, this is the Beck of ‘Gamma Ray’ and ‘Girl’.

‘Dreams’ lands ahead of Beck’s appearance at London’s BST Hyde Park, a date headlined by The Strokes and also featuring Future Islands.

It’s set to feature on a follow-up to ‘Morning Phase’, bringing together a rock and dance aesthetic largely ignored by its predecessor. He’s previously described the follow-up as the “opposite” to last year’s LP. “It started out as a heavy garage rock thing and became much more of a dance — some kind of hybrid,” he told LA station Alt 98.7.
