That long-awaited new Biffy Clyro album is creeping out of the woodwork, with the band offering up a late Christmas present in the form of the live debut of a new song, titled ‘On A Bang’, the other night.
New Year’s Eve saw the trio take to an Edinburgh stage as part of their Hogamamy celebrations. Their first show in over a year, it was the perfect, raucous launch pad for ‘On A Bang”s furious thrashing. “Why can’t you fucking do better,” screams kilted frontman Simon Neil in its chorus, a to-the-point plea to keep to your New Year’s Resolutions if ever we heard one. Check out footage of the track’s performance below.
Speaking to DIY in our December / January issue, Neil gave some pretty ‘out there’ suggestions as to what to expect from Biffy’s incoming album - it’s like “Deafheaven meets Tears For Fears meets Death Grips” apparently. Read our full in-the-studio interview here.
