Billy Corgan To Release New Album, ‘AEGEA’
Experimental recordings will be released imminently, priced at $59.95.

’ Billy Corgan recently invited guests into his studio to perform an eight-hour drone set, inspired by Hermann Hesse’s ‘Siddhartha’. Corgan’s eccentricity doesn’t stop there.
Later this year, under the name WPC he’ll be releasing a series of recordings titled ‘AEGEA’. The release consists of scattered ideas collected all the way back from 2007. It’s due out within the next six to eight weeks, priced at $59.95.
On The Smashing Pumpkins’ website, Corgan confirms that the release will be limited to 250 copies. ‘AEGEA is experimental in nature, and comes across as more a soundtrack to some lost foreign film than the kind of music I’m usually associated with,’ he says.
‘Listening back I quite like how AEGEA goes along, as it has qualities that are both meditative and alien; but not alienating.”
