Bon Iver talks James Blake collaboration: “Jim as I call him when I’m upset with him is such a powerful musician”

@blobtower took to Twitter to congratulate his friend on the impending surprise release of new album ‘The Colour In Anything’.

Have we all calmed down about that surprise release of James Blake’s new album yet? Nope? Oh well - Bon Iver’s opened up on the collaboration anyway.

Taking to his @blobtower Twitter account to talk their collaboration on ‘I Need A Forest Fire’, Justin Vernon declared the track “came from wonderful accidents and good friendship.”

“James , or Jim as I call him when I’m upset with him,” Vernon continued, perhaps veering a little into ‘TMI’ territory, “is such a powerful musician To be like Aaron Neville , AND aphex? Also, nothngelse.”

The pair previously collaborated on ‘Fall Creek Boys Choir’, before revealing another link-up earlier this year. James Blake’s new solo album, ‘The Colour In Anything’ is released tonight (May 5th / 6th) at midnight GMT. He’s already shared three new tracks and the track-listing tonight. Anything could happen in the next two hours.
