Brand New launch AIDS charity t-shirt sale

All proceeds on a discounted t-shirt will benefit charity Whitman Walker.

Brand New have launched a t-shirt sale on their website to benefit AIDS charity Whitman Walker.

Earlier this week, Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shrekli defended his raising of the price of AIDS drug, Daraprim by over 5,000%. In a photo of him spread widely online, he was wearing a Brand New t-shirt.

The band have today launched a sale on their website, reducing the price of said ‘Electricity is Dangerous’ t-shirt by 20%, and donating all proceeds from sales of the garment to Whitman Walker Health, an AIDS charity for 48 hours, beginning from this tweet:

Brand New have a series of US tour dates next month, having recently completed a UK headline tour.

Shrekli was also revealed to be financially involved with Geoff Rickly’s Collect Records - he has since cut ties with the investor.
