Last week, the BRITs revealed the three artists that had been shortlisted for next year’s BRITs Critics’ Choice Award (in association with War Child).
With the three artists getting a look in being Emeli Sande, Maverick Sabre and Michael Kiwanuka, it was always going be a tough competition. However, we can now reveal the winner to be…
Emeli Sandé!
As the winner, Emeli gets to perform at The BRITs Nominations Launch event on the 12th January at The Savoy Hotel.
Commenting on her win, Emeli said: “To win a BRIT Award so early in my career is beyond a dream come true. I am overwhelmed to be the recipient of such a prestigious award. Thank you so much.”
Previous winners of the prestigious award - which is for new British acts that are tipped to take over for mainstream success - include the likes Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine and Adele.
The BRIT Awards 2012 are set to take place on Tuesday 21st February 2012 at The O2 Arena, London.
