Burial unveils new track ‘Rodent’
It follows his ‘Subtemple’ EP from earlier in the year.

Back in May, producer Burial revealed his surprise ‘Subtemple’ EP, a two-track follow-up to last year’ 12” ‘Young Death’.
Now he’s back again with yet another new single. ‘Rodent’ is technically out next week (22nd September) via Hyperdub, but it’s available to listen to now. It’s propelled forward by a low pulse and characterised by its haunting, chopped and skewed looping vocals and jazzy brass elements (yes, they are indeed jazz-infused!)
‘Rodent’ is something of a floor-filler, at least by Burial standards, but the single also contains a remix of the track from Kode9. It turns the track into a more techno direction, which piles on the distortion levels.
