Camp Bestival introduces new area for 13 - 17 year olds

The Den will feature bands, comedy and films.

This year Camp Bestival is launching The Den, a new area exclusively for 13 - 17 year olds. Billed as a “place to escape” and “a micro-festival within a festival”, it’s designed to showcase new and emerging talent, and is curated in conjunction with London venue The Roundhouse.

In amongst the line up, you’ll find bands including Coco And The Butterfields, Nathan Ball, Animal House, Fran Lobo and Karyma Ellis, as well as DJs Pharaoh K & Absynth, DJ Lukey, Rats In Me Kitchen, Stanley Hood, Erol Sabadosh and many more. There’s also spoken word, stand up and film screenings planned.

Elsewhere at Camp Bestival this year - which takes place from 31st July - 3rd August at Lulworth Castle in Dorset - Basement Jaxx and De La Soul will play, along with Johnny Marr, Laura Mvula, Catfish & The Bottlemen, The Wedding Present, Public Service Broadcasting, MNEK, Nick Mulvey and Kitty, Daisy and Lewis.

Speaking of headliners De La Soul, organiser Rob da Bank says: “De La Soul have soundtracked my life for the past 25 years. I’ve seen them loads of times since then and they are just one of the best party acts imaginable. Camp Bestival is gonna be a very, very fun place on Saturday night!”

DIY recently spoke with Rob about the festival’s ‘big sister’ Bestival. Find out more about it here.
