Camp Cope get defiant on new track ‘Keep Growing’

The Melbourne natives also just won ‘Best Emerging Act’ at The Age Music Victoria Awards.

Melbourne trio Camp Cope only released their really quite good self-titled debut album back in April but they’re already back with a brand new single.

‘Keep Growing’ meditates on “society’s skewed standards” and continues to pair a fairly laid-back approach to indie-punk with startlingly direct lyrics that don’t hold back. They’re doing it their own way - as vocalist Georgia Maq defiantly sings, “I’ll keep growing my hair out, it’s not for you.”

She also makes it clear that “I’m not going to walk like I’m in your shadow anymore.” Well, the band have just won Best Emerging Act at The Age Music Victoria Awards, and were recently nominated for Best Album at the J Awards. Somehow it’s hard to see Camp Cope staying in the shadows much longer…
