Charles Watson shares a new video for ‘Everything Goes Right’

He wrote the track while cat sitting for a friend.

Charles Watson – aka one half of indie-pop duo Slow Club – announced back in January that he’d be releasing his debut solo album ‘Now That I’m A River’ on 18th May.

Now he’s shared new track ‘Everything Goes Right’, which was written while cat sitting for a friend of his. Charles said in a press release: “I’m not in the habit of writing songs about sub-cultures but the first line came out and I just ran with it. I wanted to write something more positive, I tried my best but I managed to fail miserably. Some of its about funerals, some of its about being unsure what’s round the corner. It’s a mixed up muddled mess”.

He’s also got a new video for the track, directed by Piers Dennis. It’s a pastel-coloured clip that sees Charles looking into mirrors, playing guitar and more before promptly breaking the illusion…

Charles offered this on the making of the new video: “Working with lifetime visual collaborator Piers Dennis is always a pleasure. He’s a reclusive Kubrick style character. There are stories flying around the industry about him bring people to tears on set with his no nonsense direction. He never works when the full moon is due and demands to be paid in Euros. Maybe he takes it easy on me or maybe I’m just a tough guy. Either way…it’s working for us”.

Charles is also set to head out on a UK tour in May and June, including a date at LSO St Luke’s in London on 26th May. Tickets are on sale now.
