Charli XCX shares album update in new “self-quarantine diary” entry
“What can I tell you about this album….”
Sharing her second entry in her self-quarantine diary, Charli XCX has revealed some details about her upcoming new album!
“This self quarantine is coming at a time where I was almostttttt finished with the writing process of my next album,” she writes. “I had one song left to write and then it was all about finishing and production and artwork etc. obviously things have slowed down now but I do feel excited to wrap this up and be releasing new music soon, of course only when it’s ready.
“What can I tell you about this album….” she continues, “well, there are less collaborations, Chris [Christine and The Queens] and I have been talking about reuniting (alongside someone else), it has felt very quick to make, AG [AG Cook] is involved, I want it to be quite short in comparison to CHARLI, there are a lot of songs about sex and physicality. there is a song about the world ending.
“AG is suggesting I started recording myself which I haven’t done for so many years but I think nows the time to start again. I love working fast and honestly, my pace behind a computer is like, painfully slow (like boomer slow tbh) so I’ll probably drive myself crazy and end up feeling frustrated. But why not? Perhaps there’s something I can release during what feels like an imminent lock down period…. I’m not sure what yet… but I’m thinking about it.”
