Chubby and The Gang rebel against Christmas “classics” on new track ‘Violent Night (A Christmas Tale)’

As could probably be extrapolated from the record’s title alone, one thing ‘The Mutt’s Nuts’ does well is evoke an approximation of ‘70s pub rock.

Getting us into the festive spirit, West London’s Chubby and The Gang are providing some alternative Christmas anthems this year, with their two-track single ‘Chubby and The Gang Presents: A Christmas Extravaganza’ arriving on 14th December via Partisan Records.

Sharing ‘Violent Night (A Christmas Tale)’ today, frontman Charlie Manning-Walker says, “I wrote this Xmas song sitting in my van freezing cold waiting to start work during the holidays, because I’m tired of hearing the same four songs on repeat over the season.”

‘Violent Night (A Christmas Tale)’ will be joined by second single ‘Red Rag To A Bull’, which Charlie notes is about how I just can’t help myself. This world really tries its best to bring ya down through work and politics and it all just seems to be nose diving. So I just wanna have a good time while I’m still here.”

To celebrate the release of their ‘A Christmas Extravaganza’, Chubby and The Gang will be playing a show at London’s The Lower Third on 15th December.
