Clinic Announce ‘Free Reign II’ Release

The band’s November full-length is to get a sibling of sorts this March.

Liverpudlian fans of strange noises, Clinic have confirmed they are to release another album this March.

Titled ‘Free Reign II’, the album is comprised of alternate mixes of the original record - ‘Free Reign’, which came out back in November (read our review on that here). The album was produced by Daniel Lopatin, and it’s his vision for the record which has been realised on this second release.

He explained in a press release, “I wanted to give it a burnt, 60s/70s stereo dub feel and was under the influence of a lot of Amon Düül II and Les Rallizes Dénudés when I was mixing.”

The album will be made available on 12-inch heavyweight vinyl and download from 4th March 2013 via Domino.

Its release coincides with the band’s already announced short tour in February and March - dates which include a DIY Presents show at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on 2nd March. Meanwhile in May, they’ll appear at The Barbican in London as part of The Residents’ 40th Anniversary tour.

The tracklisting of ‘Free Reign II’ is:

1. Sun & Moon II
2. You II
3. King Kong II
4. For The Season II
5. Miss You II
6. Cosmic Radiation II
7 Seamless Boogie Woogie BBC 10pm (rpt) II

10. Done & Dusted II
