CMAT confronts beauty standards on new single ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’
She’s described the track - lifted from her next album - as “one of the best songs I’ve ever made.”

Having recently confirmed release plans for her third album ‘EURO-COUNTRY’ (due out on 29th August via AWAL), CMAT has now offered up a second preview of the record in the form of new single ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’.
The track - which follows March’s ‘Running/Planning’ - is an eviscerating exploration of the unattainable, harmful beauty standards peddled by society, delivered with a signature CMAT wink.
Speaking about the inspirations behind the song, the Irish country-pop icon has shared: “With the internet, every woman is now in the public eye. And no matter who you are, or what you look like, somebody will take umbrage with the fact that you even exist, and there’s no escaping it.
“‘Take a Sexy Picture of Me’ was born out of that, because I held back for so long; not out of frustration or sadness for myself, because I AM in the public eye, but I realised it’s actually like this for every woman. It’s all women, all the time. That song is me calling out anyone who criticised my weight or how I looked… and it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever made.”
