Cults are at work on a ‘hip hop mixtape’ of their recent debut album.

Speaking to Vulture, guitarist Brian Oblivion revealed the band are planning to recruit rappers to work on the project.

‘We’re working on a hip hop mixtape of the album,’ he explained. ‘Like, changing all the songs up and getting up and coming rappers, guys like Freddie Gibbs and Lil B and stuff. That’s gonna be really exciting. We’ve been dealing with a lot of really bizarre managers … interesting personalities.’

Cults were amongst the latest batch of acts to be added to this year’s Reading & Leeds festival bill. You can check out our review of their self titled LP here.
