cumgirl8 confirm details of new EP ‘phantasea pharm’

New York City four-piece cumgirl8 have announced their debut EP for the 4AD label - ‘phantasea pharm’ will be released on 18th August.

To go with the news, the group have also shared a new song from the project in the form of ‘gothgirl1’.

Inspiration for the EP’s title struck before a show in Charlottesville, Virginia, when the band were listening to Ella Fitzgerald’s version of ‘Old McDonald’ and decided to take to the stage in outfits to match: guitarist Veronika Vilim dressed in a cow leotard, drummer Chase Lombardo in an apron reading ‘The Grillfather’, guitarist Avishag Rodrigues dressed as a lawnmower and bassist Lida Fox wore a rooster costume. “We went on stage that night and told everyone we were a ‘Fantasy Farm’,” the band have said.

cumgirl8 had previously shared the song ‘cicciolina’ from the EP.

The band had previously released their 2020 self-titled EP and ‘RIPcumgirl8’ in 2021. The band have also recently opened for Le Tigre in North America. They will play Green Man Festival in August, as well as Core Festival in Glasgow, among other European festivals.
