Robots will actually be making a ‘surprise appearance’ at the MTV VMAs.

Daft Punk Cancel Scheduled Colbert Report Appearance
Yesterday DIY reported

that Daft Punk were set to play their first ‘Random Access Memories’ performance on ‘The Colbert Report’, on US channel Comedy Central. Turns out they had other obligations.

Daft Punk have instead kept their exclusivity to a forthcoming performance at the MTV VMAs, which’ll also see Kanye West perform ‘Black Skinhead’.

‘Apparently, Daft Punk are going to make a surprise appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards. Don’t tell anyone, because fun fact: No one told me until two hours ago,’ stated Colbert on the show.

Robin Thicke was instead drafted in to perform ‘Blurred Lines’.

The MTV VMAs take place on 25th August 2013.
