Daft Punk Hint At Releasing ‘Random Access Memories’ Remixes

Thomas Bangalter confirmed the plans in a Pete Tong interview.

Contrary to the increasing belief that Daft Punk are no longer an electronic act, only relying on analog equipment, in turn becoming a solely nostalgic band who’ve basically let everyone on the planet down, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are looking set to remix their own material on ‘Random Access Memories’.

In an interview with Pete Tong earlier this week, ‘RAM’ remixes have been confirmed to be on the cards. We can expect the first to emerge at the end of June. You might recall that June is when people were intending on shutting up about Daft Punk, with this announcement scuppering said plans.

Balgalter explained:

‘We’re working on some mixes ourselves. So, yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually, we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time.’

The interview’s available to listen to in full here.
