Daft Punk Planning 2014 Summer Shows?

Permission for a show at Wyoming’s Devils Tower is rejected, showing up the duo’s plans for the summer.

News has emerged suggesting that Daft Punk intend on playing live shows this summer. Elaborate ones, too (see below for an update on the story, which is still developing).

The electronic duo have only made one live appearance since the release of ‘Random Access Memories’, at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

A report in Wyoming’s Star Tribune claims that Daft Punk recently had plans rejected to play at national monument the Devils Tower. The gig would’ve been attended by up to 50,000 people, but plans were rejected after local consultation with American Indian tribes, who all deemed the show to be an act of disrespect.

The Devils Tower superintendent Reed Robinson claimed Daft Punk appeared to be scouting out locations for 2014 summer shows. This is the first official sign that they’re set to play live - no doubt this small rejection won’t make much of a dent in presumably huge plans.

Update: Reports on Daft Punk’s association with ICM Partners (the representatives attempting to acquire planning permission) have been rejected, via Pitchfork.
