Daphni announces new ‘FABRICLIVE 93’ mix
Dan Snaith has also shared bona fide banger ‘Face To Face’ from the all-original collection.
It’s been a whole five years since Dan Snaith (also known as
electronic maestro Caribou) released a full body of work under his Daphni
moniker, but with a set at Bilbao BBK lined up for later in the year, he’s
announced plans to make up for lost time with the follow-up to ‘JIAOLONG’.
Dan is the latest artist to take the helm for the FabricLive
series, but he’s put his own unique spin on the mix. ‘FABRICLIVE 93’ will be
released on 21st July and will be composed of a whopping 23 original,
unreleased Daphni tracks and four new edits.
Speaking of his decision to collaborate with the Fabric
club, Dan said: “There have been so many (excellent) FABRICLIVE and fabric
mixes at this point that I knew I should only do one if I could think of a way
of doing my own take on it […] I immediately thought about making my own mix of
unreleased music – following on in the tradition of [Ricardo Villalobos],
Omar-S and Shackleton’s fabric mixes”.
Coinciding with the announcement, Dan has also shared a
brand new track, ‘Face To Face’. It’s a bit of a banger indeed, built around
house beats, a repeated, bass-laden guitar line that’s got a bit of a funk
groove, which also introduces chopped vocals into the mix.
