Death Grips Already Working On New Album

Zach Hill’s also given updates on Hella and his plans to soundtrack a film.

There’s barely been a minute’s breathing space between now and the unveiling of Death Grips’ latest record ‘Government Plates’. Released out of the blue (as is custom in the band’s post-major label heyday), the record followed on from 2012’s ‘NO LOVE DEEP WEB’. It looks like the abrasive hip-hop enthusiasts might be getting into a routine of sorts. They’re already at work on a follow-up, and they’ve started discussing touring, which these days is a novelty given the band’s big thing for no-shows.

A post on Zach Hill’s Facebook confirmed that he’s in the studio. ‘starting to record the new Death Grips album right now,’ he stated. ‘hope to tour alot this summer. Still writing a film and would like to make a new Hella album sooner than later…’

The film he’s referencing is a short flick starring Robert Pattinson called ‘Misoneism’ - similar to Death Grips’ light and fluffy demeanour, the film’s about a guy who gets caught up in Brazil’s underground prostitution world. The film’s currently only scheduled for one viewing, at Guild Theater in Sacramento.
