Death Grips announce details of final album, ‘the powers that b’
Double album is out later this year.
Despite splitting earlier this year, Death Grips have stuck to their promise or releasing one final official full-length in the form of ‘the powers that b’.
Out later this year, a Facebook post confirmed the release. It consists of ‘niggas on the moon’ (Death Grips’ “surprise” free release from June 2014) and second part ‘jenny death’.
Confirming its completion, Death Grips state that ‘the powers that b’ will come out in digital and physical formats. They also unveiled the artwork (below).
Back in July 2014, Death Grips announced their split in the form of a hand-written note.
The note read: “We are now at our best and so Death Grips is over. We have officially stopped. All currently scheduled live dates are canceled. Our upcoming double album the powers that b will still be delivered worldwide later this year via Harvest/Third Worlds Records. Death Grips was and always has been a conceptual art exhibition anchored by sound and vision. Above and beyond a “band”. To our truest fans, please stay legend.”
