Death Grips ‘Purposefully’ Tried To Exit Epic Records Deal
The duo recently spoke to Pitchfork about the dissolution of their major label contract.

Death Grips recently spoke to Pitchfork about the dissolution of their major label contract.
In an interview with the duo, Zach Hill touched briefly on the situation that arose after the band leaked their own album online, commenting that they ‘purposefully’ tried to leave the label.
Speaking on the subject, and what the band’s next move may be, Hill made the following comments: “A lot of things have to be determined that aren’t that interesting — figuring out how we’re going to [move forward]. And whether we’re going to do that ourselves, or who’s going to do that with us, based on our actions of purposefully trying to get out of the record deal we’re exiting right now.”
The dissolution of the band’s contract with Epic occurred after the band leaked their album, and proceeded to publish a series of private emails exchanged between the band’s team and the label themselves.
Death Grips have also announced plans for a brand new London headline show next year, and will play at the HMV Forum in London on the 2nd May.
