Death Grips release album from unknown band, the I.L.Y.’s
Listen to ‘I’ve always been good at true love’ now.
Death Grips are up to something. Earlier today (3rd June), the group released a .zip file on Twitter, containing a record from a supposedly new, previously unknown band called the I.L.Y.’s.
‘I’ve always been good at true love’ is in parts a straight down the line punk record, but it does share similarities with Death Grips’ uncompromising wall-of-sound aesthetic. With that, speculation’s already rife about the identity behind this project, and fans are guessing that Zach Hill is involved. The drummer had a film project called ‘The Sickest Fuck of Them All’ that never came to light, but there’s a song on this record carrying the same title.
Either way, Death Grips just gave us one of the year’s biggest buzz bands in the space of a few hours. Download the record in full here or listen below.
