Dirty Projectors appear to tease new music

Dirty Projectors have said very little about a potential new album - a follow-up to 2012’s ‘Swing Lo Magellan’ - but it looks like they’re close to breaking a silence.

The group have posted a new, 20-seconds-long clip appearing to contain new music. Visually, it shows a pair of hands that look like they’re praying - a nice mirror image of exactly what Dirty Projectors fans have been doing for the past four years.

In between records, Dirty Projectors haven’t been completely silent. Frontman David Longstreth co-wrote ‘FourFiveSeconds’, last year’s Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney single. He also performed alongside members of Vampire Weekend for Bernie Sanders’ Democratic presidential candidate campaign rallies.

Watch the cryptic clip below.

Update:

Dirty Projectors have shared another teaser. This time, the music sounds like a raw remix of ‘Impregnable Question’, skewing the lyric “We don’t see eye to eye” into a hyperactive, glitchy forty-seconds.

The new teaser, below, comes with the caption, ‘What We Imagined And What We Became’.

They’ve also updated their Facebook profile photo, which either means there’s a new album on the way or they’ve just been having fun with Photoshop and fancy a #rebrand.
