Dive deeper into the world of Polo with new track ‘Soak’

It’s the latest from the Leeds trio’s upcoming debut EP ‘Alice’.

Leeds electro-pop trio Polo are gearing up for the release of their debut EP ‘Alice’, out on 10th March. The EP mostly focuses on the female influences in singer Kat McHugh’s life, whether they be romantic or motherly, good or bad, and were written mostly on train journeys after Kat detached herself more from the internet after losing her phone. She said: “Since then I feel like my lyrics have been more real, as I’ve had time to get my feelings and thoughts onto paper.” After already sharing the off-kilter tropical pop of ‘Gold Horizons’, they’re building up to the release of ‘Alice’ with latest track ‘Soak’. It dives deeper into downbeat, melancholic territory, matching the choppiness of the arpeggiated synth melodies and clicking, almost bitty beats (crafted by founding member Luke Lount), with Kat’s smooth and soulful R&B vocals. Hear ‘Soak’ and see Polo’s upcoming tour dates below. FEBRUARY 22 Newcastle, Think Tank 24 London, The Garage 26 Leeds, The Lending Room
